Brattle Street Phase 2
On Tuesday, January 31, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., TPT will hold its fourth community meeting for the Brattle Street project with a focus on updates to Phase 2 installation of separated bike lanes from Sparks St to Mt. Auburn Street. The agenda includes a discussion of preliminary feedback from Phase 1 of the project, installed last Fall and discussion of preliminary plans for the intersection of Brattle Street and Mt Auburn Street, including a bike-lane connection to Aberdeen Ave. Click here for information on how to join the meeting.
Currently, the project design continues the side by side separated bike lanes consistent with the Phase 1 design which will remove one side of on- street parking. In the Birches area between Fresh Pond and Mt Auburn St, this design presents many challenges for residents (many elderly) that have no off street parking options. The idea of making this section one way has been discussed as an option to retain more parking. Information on both Phase 1 and Phase 2 can be found on the project page.
